AROUND & ABOUT
South Zeal is a pretty moorland village with a strong sense of community. The village shop (80m) sells everything you need to cook for yourself (and more), or there are two pubs close by. The King's Arms (barely 50m away!) serves great pub food and is a really friendly local. Well-behaved dogs on leads are also welcome.. If you can shop locally that would be great as local shops and businesses need our support. The village shop is also a Post Office so you can withdraw cash.
Okehampton – 4 miles away – has three supermarkets, takeaways and a cinema.
If you fancy a bit of sea air the stunning North and South Devon coasts are equidistant (about an hour) - but completely contrasting.
The Cornish border is only about 15 minutes away on the A30 and Cornwall has many fabulous places to visit! You could be at the Eden Project in about an hour or The Lost Gardens of Heligan or the charming working fishing port of Padstow in about an hour and 20 minutes.
NATIONAL TRUST PLACES
There are plenty of National Trust properties in the area. Finch Foundry is less than a mile's walk away in Sticklepath while the magnificent Castle Drogo is about 5 miles away.
